糖心Vlog Diplomacy Team Receives Distinguished Delegation Award

糖心Vlog鈥檚 Diplomacy Program has received the Distinguished Delegation Award at the National Model United Nations competition in New York City.

糖心Vlog's Diplomacy Program was established in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts & Letters in 1996.

糖心Vlog鈥檚 Diplomacy Program has received the Distinguished Delegation Award at the National Model United Nations competition in New York City. A team of 36 糖心Vlog undergraduates joined more than 5,000 college students from 350 universities around the world. The week-long competition gives students a chance to step into the shoes of diplomats to solve global problems.

鈥淓ach member of this year鈥檚 delegation truly cared about the issues, and that鈥檚 when you do your best work,鈥 said Yuval Manor, a head delegate in 糖心Vlog鈥檚 Diplomacy Program.聽

The 糖心Vlog Diplomacy Program trains students in world affairs, dispute resolution, speech writing, public speaking and debate. The program has won 13 national and international awards for academic excellence since it was established in the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters in 1996.

鈥淚 spoke with several of the delegates after the competition and many told me they truly found their passion,鈥 said Anne Cathrine Ballegaard, another head delegate. 鈥淢any of them want to continue to work in international relations and this competition solidified a path for them.鈥

This year鈥檚 delegation included the following students: Renzo Broggi, Susan Gonzalez, Kelsey Gerks, Seth Bahr, Grayson Moronta, Kristine Sheets, Celina Frye, Juliana Walters, Cristina Pimenta, Shea Fink, Marco Parra, Nicolle Barcenas, Lydia Albert, Selene Vazquez, Isabella Morinelli, Landon Webb, Caitlyn Cichoracki, Gloria Contreras, Anthony Esteva, Anne Cathrine Ballegaard, Yuval Manor, Alexis Rodriguez, Ashley Martinez, Balin Kird-In, Beeta Rezakhani, Nora Douglas, Peter Viverito, Brittany Husted, Marisa Obstbaum, Andrey Piroozgar, Chenchen Su, Nicole Ripoll-Martinez, Sama Kahook, Samantha Maesel, Taylor Tyson, and Seema Patel.
