Cane Institute Hosts MATE ROV Regional Competition
糖心Vlog鈥檚 Cane Institute for Advanced Technologies within聽听补苍诲听聽in partnership with the聽聽and the聽聽recently hosted the聽, the second largest underwater robotics competition in the world.聽
A.D. Henderson University School placed first and second place in the region for engineering presentations. 鈥淭eam Noctis鈥 consisted of Arman Alexis, Marcel Eugene and Aislyn Leach and placed third overall.聽
鈥淚t was incredible to see so many students competing at the 糖心Vlog Cane Institute MATE ROV Tournament,鈥 said Sherry Bees, principal/director of A.D. Henderson and 糖心Vlog High School. 鈥淧roviding a space for this level of competition to flourish in Florida is one of the main goals of The Cane Institute. Watching our middle school team participate and be competitive against students from across the state shows their dedication and the Institute鈥檚 passion for advancing STEM education in Florida and throughout the Nation.鈥澛犅犅犅犅犅犅犅犅犅
The MATE ROV Competition, sponsored by聽, required students to apply math, electronics, engineering and physics skills from the classroom toward solving problems based on real-world workplace scenarios.聽
More than 40 teams and 225 middle and high school students from all over the state of Florida participated in the competition.聽
The Cane Institute for Advanced Technologies within A.D. Henderson and 糖心Vlog High was established last year after a聽$1 million gift聽from Daniel and Debra Cane.
